Tottenham travel to Everton in the Premier League this afternoon with Ange Postecoglou’s position under pressure.
A squad decimated by injuries has struggled for results this season and sit 14th in the table. Spurs were beaten 2-1 in the North London derby in midweek, the club’s 11th league defeat in just 21 matches. That’s just one loss fewer than Spurs suffered during Postecoglou’s entire debut season in charge.
Everton are another side in need of an upturn in fortunes. Just one point above the Premier League’s relegation places, the Toffees have brought former manager David Moyes back to the club.
Moyes’s second spell in charge began with a 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa in midweek. The Merseysiders have struggled badly for goals with just 15 scored in 20 games.
Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma are doubts for Spurs, after picking up issues in the derby defeat at Arsenal. Postecoglou said on Friday that the pair will be assessed ahead of the trip to Goodison Park.
There’s better news on Ben Davies who could return to the side this weekend.
Timo Werner is out until February with a hamstring injury and joins the likes of Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario in the treatment room. Rodrigo Bentancur is also ruled out due to concussion protocols.
Tottenham predicted XI: Kinsky; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Sarr, Bergvall, Maddison; Kulusevski, Son, Solanke.
Everton host Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday 18th January 2025. Kick-off at Goodison Park is 14:00 GMT.
The game will be broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
