Thomas Frank has confirmed Yves Bissouma is available to face Burnley after disciplinary issues.

Bissouma was dropped from the Tottenham squad for the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain after repeatedly being late.

Frank said there had to be a “consequence” for that and Bissouma was therefore not involved in Udine, despite having initially been named in the travelling squad.

Speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League opener on Saturday, Frank said: “Bissouma was a situation. I addressed it, there was a consequence. He will be in the squad tomorrow.

“Of course we dealt with the situation. These situations you deal with internally of course.

It's dealth with, I'm looking forward. It's a big game tomorrow and that's where the main focus should be.”

Bissouma missed the first Premier League match of last season after Spurs suspended him following an internal investigation. That came after a video emerged of him appearing to inhale laughing gas.

“He has responsibilities to the club, he has responsibilities to his team-mates, he has responsibilities to supporters and everyone associated with the club and he’s failed in those duties,” Ange Postecoglou said at the time. “There’s got to be sanctions for that.”

The then-Spurs boss added: “Hopefully we can help him to realise that the decisions he makes impacts more than just him and allows him to make better decisions going forward.”

Bissouma has played a limited role in pre-season under Frank, starting just one match.

That came against Luton when Spurs split their squad to play two matches on the same day.

Bissouma has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the club and his future remains uncertain.
