Three Premier League clubs have reportedly set their sights on pacey Milan center-back Malick Thiaw heading into the summer. According to several foreign outlets, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to rival Newcastle United and West Ham for the Rossoneri star.

Although Thiaw has been in and out of the Milan starting XI this season, he remains part of the club’s plans for the future. With the Italian giants bracing for a transitional summer, several first-team stalwarts could depart the San Siro after a hugely disappointing Serie A season.

Long-serving left-back Theo Hernandez was supposed to spearhead the exodus, but the Frenchman could stay at Milan. Indeed, he had been at loggerheads with the club over a new contract, but he is seemingly leaning towards committing his long-term future to the Rossoneri.

On the other hand, Thiaw’s situation is a bit more complicated. Despite his young age and undeniable potential, he has struggled for form and consistency. Therefore, Milan may be open to selling the 23-year-old to the highest bidder, especially now that they could get a premium price.

Premier League clubs have become notorious for lavish spending, and Milan could capitalize on this opportunity to raise funds for an expected squad overhaul. Tottenham tried to lure Fikayo Tomori away from the San Siro in January but to no avail.

Spurs’ priorities have since changed as they now seek a faster center-back to partner Micky van de Ven. Thiaw ticks all the boxes, but it’s up to Milan to decide, given that his contract runs out in 2027.
