Tottenham Hotspur have turned their attention to Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White as they continue to reshape their squad ahead of the 2025-26 season.
New manager Thomas Frank is a long-time admirer of the 25-year-old and views him as a key target following the club’s agreement to sign West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus.
Gibbs-White has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most effective attacking midfielders, contributing seven goals and ten assists last season under Nuno Espirito Santo.
He has also worn the captain’s armband for Forest and is under contract until 2027 after joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2022 for a fee that could rise to £42.5 million.
Tottenham’s interest follows earlier admiration from Manchester City, although they ultimately opted to prioritise deals for Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders.
Spurs’ recruitment drive has already resulted in significant activity this summer, with Kudus arriving for £55m. Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso have also completed permanent moves after loan spells.
Japan international Kota Takai has joined the ranks, as Frank looks to inject experience and versatility into a side that finished 17th in the Premier League last season but lifted the Europa League trophy.
The potential arrival of Gibbs-White would give Spurs a new creative force in midfield, raising questions over the futures of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
Frank previously used a 4-2-3-1 system at Brentford, with Mikkel Damsgaard excelling in the number ten role, and could use a similar set-up with Gibbs-White operating centrally behind a striker.
The move would represent an exciting step for Gibbs-White, offering both continental football and a fresh challenge, but Forest are under no pressure to sell unless a substantial offer is made.
His departure would be another blow for Forest, who are already preparing to lose Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United in a £52m deal.
Spurs appear intent on backing Frank with a squad capable of returning to the Premier League’s top six and competing on multiple fronts next season.
