Tottenham Hotspur have been left with little option but to look elsewhere after Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze made it clear he wants Arsenal, according to The Athletic.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club had the conditions of a deal agreed, but the Gunners have pipped them in the race to sign him.

The Gunners have made their move for the 27-year-old after losing Kai Havertz to a knee injury, and he wants to join them from Palace.

Palace chairman Steve Parish and his Tottenham counterpart Daniel Levy have held talks in recent days over a move for him, but it appears a deal has fallen through.

The Lilywhites had been open to using Richarlison as a makeweight in a deal to sign the Palace attacker, but he is a boyhood Arsenal fan and wants to realise his dreams of playing for them.

Eze played in the club’s academy as a schoolboy, and he is now eyeing a return despite coming close to moving to Spurs.

While it is a massive blow for Tottenham manager Thomas Frank, the development could force him to reunite with Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa.

He wants to join Newcastle United, but the Bees prefer to sell him to Spurs.

Spurs will be gutted to have missed out on Eze, but they still have time to bring in a top attacker before the end of the summer transfer window.
