In a recent Q&A, Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are still hoping to land Como starlet Nico Paz this summer. It has been claimed that Spurs are keen on recruiting the Argentine player in this transfer window.

Paz’s Decent Run Of Form In Serie A

The 20-year-old enjoyed a good run of form at the Italian club last season when he managed to produce a series of impressive displays for them in Serie A. Paz scored six goals and picked up nine assists in 35 appearances for Como in the previous campaign across various competitions.

The gifted prospect was a decent contributor in the final third as he averaged 3.65 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He kept 33.9% of his shots on target. Paz was careful when distributing possession, based on his pass completion rate of 80.6% in the Italian first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current deal at Como will run out in the summer of 2028, so Tottenham have got no choice but to meet the Italian club’s demands if they want to land the Argentine youngster in this transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur Are Still Hoping To Land Paz: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Paz is a good dribbler with the ball and can make some dangerous runs with it in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He has got the eye to set up a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can strike the ball with venom from long range.

The Argentine whizkid is primarily an attacking midfielder, but can also perform as a box-to-box midfielder or as a striker up top if asked to do so by his manager.

Paz is already good enough to challenge for a regular starting place at Tottenham this season. He will also help the North London club challenge across all fronts over the next few years.

At 20, Paz is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future. Thus, it makes sense for Spurs to try everything they can to lure him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the end of this transfer window. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League.
