In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are in the mix to sign Aston Villa winger Jacob Ramsey. It has been claimed that Spurs would have to rival Newcastle United in the race to recruit the English wide player this summer.

Ramsey’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Ramsey had a decent campaign at the West Midlands club after he put in a series of impressive displays in the final third. The 24-year-old found the back of the net four times and earned seven assists in 46 matches for Aston Villa last season across all fronts.

The English talent served as a good squad player at Villa Park in the previous campaign. He was even tidy when distributing the ball in the final third based on his pass completion rate of 84.8% in the Premier League (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Villa Park will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, Tottenham would have to make a big move if they are serious about winning the race for Ramsey’s services.

What Will Ramsey Add To Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank’s Side?

Ramsey is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play some killer passes in the final third. He can strike the ball with venom from long range and can contribute by scoring a few important goals for his team going forward.

However, the English sensation needs to find a way to improve his productivity in front of the opponent’s goal. Still, Ramsey has got some valuable experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham.

We can expect Ramsey to add more quality and depth to Spurs boss Thomas Frank’s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
