In a recent report, Goal stated that Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to recruit West Ham United winger Mohammed Kudus this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eyeing a move to land the Ghanaian wide player in this transfer window.

Kudus struggled to find consistency with his performances for the Hammers in the previous campaign. The Ghana international scored five times and picked up four assists in 35 matches for West Ham last season across various competitions.

The 24-year-old did well to average 2.61 shots per 90 minutes in Premier League football. However, he only kept 28% of his attempts on target. Kudus was accurate with his ball distribution after completing 83.6% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).

Kudus’ current contract at the London Stadium will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for Spurs to land him on the cheap this off-season.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank Go For Kudus?

Kudus is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs out on the flanks when he is playing with confidence on the field. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and can also engineer the odd chance for others around him on the offensive end of the field. However, Kudus has to find a way to improve his productivity and decision-making in front of the opponent’s goal.

The Ghana international is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also function as a left-winger or play in the number ten position if required. However, he has struggled to find consistency at times and would need time to prove his worth at a club like Tottenham Hotspur.

Kudus would bring more pace and firepower to Spurs head coach Thomas Frank’s frontline. The Ghanaian wing wizard is good enough to compete for regular first-team football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

At 24, Kudus has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for the North London club to pursue this summer. Therefore, it makes sense for Frank to go for someone of his skill set ahead of the new campaign.
