Tottenham enquire about Semenyo but deal stalls | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur have approached Bournemouth over the possible signing of Antoine Semenyo (h/t journalist David Ornstein).

The club are looking to boost their squad after lifting the Europa League trophy.

Despite a disappointing league campaign, Spurs booked a Champions League spot courtesy of their European triumph.

The club want to add fresh faces to ensure they are competitive on all fronts next season.

Semenyo was identified as a possible option to improve the forward line.

Tottenham made an initial enquiry but have decided not to press forward with talks at this stage.

United are also monitoring Semenyo

The Ghana international has attracted interest from other clubs, including Manchester United, but his price tag is a stumbling block.

Bournemouth reportedly want £65 million to let Semenyo leave. That valuation has put off Spurs and other interested clubs.

Semenyo is believed to be open to a move to London, but no firm progress has been made.

The 25-year-old was one of Bournemouth’s key players last season under Andoni Iraola, scoring 13 goals in 42 matches across all competitions.

Bournemouth are under no pressure to sell unless their asking price is met. Spurs will likely bide their time and hope the south coast club lowers their demands.

Tottenham are also closely monitoring Bryan Mbeumo’s situation. The Brentford star has been strongly linked with Man United.
