FC Barcelona boast a talented and well-balanced squad at Hansi Flick’s disposal, blending youth and experience in every position. Several players enjoyed a resurgence under the German coach last season, and one of the most notable was Ferran Torres.

The 25-year-old forward, once listed for transfer, found a role perfectly suited to his skill set. Flick identified him as a natural number nine alternative to Robert Lewandowski, and Torres thrived in the position, becoming a decisive and invaluable asset by the end of the campaign.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona recently received two offers worth €50 million each from Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. The Catalan club’s response was swift and firm: Ferran is not for sale.

Interest from England is nothing new. Last summer, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa lodged a €20 million bid, far below the €55 million Barcelona paid Manchester City for him in 2022. His previous Premier League experience, with a season and a half at City, continues to make him an attractive target for English sides.

Despite the financial lure, Barcelona opted to reject both offers, and Torres also wants to remain at Camp Nou. With Lewandowski’s workload likely to be managed more carefully this season, Torres is expected to see increased minutes as a central striker.

The current version of Ferran is proving increasingly clinical, needing few chances to score. If his pre-season form is any indication, Barcelona could be set to benefit greatly from his sharpness in the months ahead.
