Former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for the most recent efforts of Blancos frontman Kylian Mbappé.
This of course comes fresh off something of a bizarre outing for the Frenchman this past weekend.
After Real Madrid made the trip to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga showdown with arch rivals Barcelona, Mbappé was on target to the tune of a hat-trick.
This, however, did not prove enough to secure victory for Carlo Ancelotti’s side. In fact, Los Merengues did not even manage a share of the spoils, owing to an eventual 4-3 defeat.
A fulfilling day’s work for Kylian Mbappé from an individual standpoint, but a deeply damaging one for Real Madrid as a collective.
One individual, though, of the opinion that the summer arrival in Spain’s capital is deserving of adulation for his efforts in defeat is the aforementioned Toni Kroos.
Speaking during the latest episode of his personal podcast, ‘Einfach mal Luppen’, ex-midfielder Kroos explained:
“El Clásico’s MVP? Kylian Mbappé. No one said it has to be a player from the winning team. If you score 3 goals, you are the MVP to me.”
