TMW: Milan scouting Serie A goalkeeper amid Maignan uncertainty – the name | OneFootball

Elia Caprile is turning heads with some impressive performances for Cagliari, and AC Milan are one of the sides watching him closely.

While waiting to see if Milan will be able to lift a second trophy in this rollercoaster season, the management are already working towards the future. As TMW report, they will first of all have to define who will be the new sporting director and with him also the coach.

However, this does not prevent them from already having a certain strategy regarding some departments that could be strengthened, also in light of existing situations that need to be monitored. For example, there is uncertainty over the future of Mike Maignan.

The goalkeeper has not yet reached an agreement with the club to renew his contract, which expires in just over a year in June 2026. In the event that the Frenchman were to leave, the current management are looking at Elia Caprile.

Since leaving Napoli for Cagliari in January, the goalkeeper has had some great performances, so much so that the Sardinians have already decided to buy him permanently by paying the €8m option to buy.

Caprile’s saves have also attracted other clubs, however. Milan have just made a few enquiries for now to explore the situation, but the 23-year-old also has admirers in the Premier League.
