According to COPE, the arrests were made in response to the heinous abuse witnessed by fans and officials alike.

The incident has once again highlighted the ongoing issue of racism in Spanish football, prompting a swift response from law enforcement to address such behavior.

Real Madrid, who have yet to receive official sanctions from the Anti-Violence Commission regarding the incident, have already taken steps to ban the fans believed to have participated in the abuse.

As the legal process unfolds, there is a strong expectation that these individuals might face strict punishment, following precedents set throughout 2024 where fans were similarly punished for racial abuse during La Liga matches.

It now remains to be seen when and how Real Madrid will be punished following the racial incidents at their own backyard.
