Subjectively, Leicester City Football Club have looked awful on the pitch for the majority of the season. Away from the field of play, the Foxes are similarly troubled. But the performances turned in at King Power Stadium, along with up and down the country, have been intolerable. Obviously Southampton are below City; the Saints have already been relegated. But LCFC are giving them a good run for their money in the basement.
Leicester displays really deteriorated drastically under their second manager this term, Ruud van Nistelrooy. While we all witnessed the terrible results and questionable group efforts, what sets the Foxes apart negatively? What are the tangible numbers or statistics from a catastrophic campaign in the east Midlands? The Leicestershire side need to know this on order to attempt to right the many wrongs for future prosperity.
Southampton are already down and could well finish with less points than their soon-to-be Championship rivals once again. Yes, other outfits in EPL seasons gone by have put less wins on the board than Leicester too. Yet at least the south coast side can score a goal. Southampton have also shown more spirit than City in my opinion, intangible a quality as it is.
For some reason, many of us in the Blue Army had (kind of) high hopes when the ex-Manchester United man arrived. Obviously keeping a proven Steve Cooper would have been by far the correct choice in hindsight. The installation of an inexperienced van Nistelrooy has been an unmitigated calamity at LCFC.
Therefore, and regrettably, here are some facts and stats for van Nistelrooy, Leicester director of football Jon Rudkin and chairman Aiyawatt 'Khun Top' Srivaddhanaprabha to examine over the offseason. Although I imagine RvN will mutually depart at the end of the season! I mean, the last occasion where the Foxes netted a goal at KPS was four months ago. That's last year!
