As reported by L’Équipe and confirmed by Get French Football News, AS Monaco’s Head of Youth Development Pascal De Maesschalck is the subject of interest from BlueCo-owned RC Strasbourg Alsace.
De Maesschalck arrived at the Principality club back in 2021, however, he is now attracting interest from Strasbourg, who have offered him a techincal director role at the club. In an interview, attended by Get French Football News, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro confirmed the approach from Les Alsaciens and revealed that talks over a move are ongoing.
“We are in discussions with Strasbourg. He is under contract so there needs to be an agreement between the two clubs. He has informed us that he has the ambition to leave, so we are working on finding a solution. It doesn’t change the kind of club that we are or the relevance of our academy. We are already working on a potential replacement to keep the stadnards very high. It isn’t really something that concerns us too much,” said Scuro.
