Juventus coach Thiago Motta says his players must pay attention to transitions in a Serie A game against Inter on Sunday and insists ‘not everyone can start’ as Dusan Vlahovic seems destined to be benched again.
Juventus host Inter at the Allianz Stadium this evening, in the big game of Serie A round 25.
The Bianconeri went out for a team dinner this week, visiting Leonardo Bonucci-owned restaurant Leve.
“I recommend the restaurant in Leve; it’s very good,” Motta told DAZN.
“We are always together for work, even on Saturdays and Sundays. Being in a restaurant is a different environment, but we’re still together, talking about other things, spending time in another setting. That’s why I went to dinner with our group.”
Juventus have won three games in a row for the first time this season.
“I see them doing very well; it couldn’t be otherwise,” said Motta.
“We are facing a big match in this championship with two great teams. We must put our strengths on the field to compete against a top team and play our game to deserve a victory.”

Andrea Cambiaso has recovered from an injury, but he’s not expected to start tonight.
“If he doesn’t start, we’ll see him during the match,” Motta argued.
“Even though he hasn’t played for a while, he doesn’t lose his physical condition. He is young and always in good shape. He always pays attention to details, and we all know his technical abilities. He’s a player who can give us a lot.”
The first leg in Milan ended in a spectacular 4-4 draw in October, but Motta didn’t enjoy the match as much as the fans did.
“For a coach, it’s always enjoyable when you win a match,” he said.
“The final result is the most important thing. I repeat: we are two teams that want to win, and we must earn the victory. We have to do a lot on the field and be careful about everything. We must pay attention to transitions against a team like Inter.
“Heart is a fundamental thing in football. We play with heart and mind. We have to think carefully to make the best decisions on the field. The right attitude is crucial to competing with the opponent.”
There’s a lot of noise around Juventus’ top scorer, Vlahovic, who is expected to start on the bench again tonight.
“People talk about Dusan, Randal, Cambiaso. People talk about all the players,” insisted Motta.
“We have strong players, and everyone wants to play, but not everyone can start, unless the rules change, which I don’t think will happen. Football has existed for over 100 years, and they haven’t changed that. Eleven players start, and the others are always ready to come in during the match to raise the level. What matters is not the quantity but the quality of the minutes played, and they know it well.”
