Manchester United are facing growing pressure in the race for Benjamin Sesko, especially following Newcastle’s new and improved bid. However, INEOS are refusing to panic.
The two Premier League clubs are going head-to-head for the RB Leipzig striker, as they have both identified him as their primary target in attack.
On Monday night, The Athletic journalist David Ornstein revealed that Newcastle have upped their game. Having already launched an offer worth €80 million in total for Sesko last week, the Magpies have improved their bid, guaranteeing their German counterparts €80 million, with add-ons that could raise their total to €90 million.
Following this astronomical bid from the Geordies, all eyes turned to Man United who are threatened to be left out of the race.
Nevertheless, Fabrizio Romano insists that the Red Devils remain calm and collected, refusing to change their strategy.
In the latest video posted on his official YouTube channel, the Italian journalist explained that Man Utd won’t panic-react by trying to match Newcastle’s bid, as they have already informed Leipzig that they will only submit a formal offer once the player chooses Old Trafford as his desired destination.
In recent days, several sources have claimed that Sesko is inclined to choose Man United over Newcastle. Therefore, the Reds are seemingly banking on the striker’s will to knock their rivals out of the race, which is the same strategy they applied to sign Matheus Cunha, and particularly Bryan Mbeumo.

Nevertheless, Romano reveals that Sesko has yet to hand in his decision, as he continues to reflect on what will be a career-defining choice for him.
The 22-year-old Slovenian first rose to prominence as a teenager at RB Salzburg before moving to their sister club, RB Leipzig, in 2023. He made 87 appearances for the Bundesliga club in all competitions, contributing with 39 goals and eight assists.
