Matchday 31 featured a reduced fixture list given Leagues Cup commitments, but there was still plenty of class on offer for fans and neutrals alike to sit back and enjoy.

Here are the best hits and goalscoring bits from the weekend.

5. Anders Dreyer vs LAFC

One of the biggest stories of the 2025 MLS season, San Diego continue to fight for not only top spot in the Western Conference, but the head seat of the Supporters' Shield table, with star forward Anders Dreyer key to those efforts.

The diminutive Dane once again got himself on the scoresheet for SDFC during their 2-1 win over Son Heung-min and LAFC, after receiving an outrageous through ball from inside the San Diego half before beating two men to apply the finish.

Not the prettiest goal of the weekend, but it was certainly somewhat of a throwback to incisive football with a bit of Danish flair to top it all off.

4. Gabriel Pirani vs NYCFC

There is so much hope that continues to surround MLS legacy club D.C. United as they press on in a historically poor season for the capital club.

Propping up the Eastern Conference, D.C. still boasts plenty of attacking quality that can define a match, and a cheeky goal from Gabriel Pirani was another advert displaying his individual qualities.

The deft touch by the Brazilian to create enough space before dispatching a lovely finish from outside the box oozed class, while helping the away side to three points in the Bronx.

3. Dániel Sallói vs Colorado

Hungary remain situated in a quiet corner of the footballing world despite once claiming elite status in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War. Though they are no longer a European powerhouse, they continue to produce talent in abundance.

Sporting KC's Dániel Sallói showed just what he and his countrymen can manufacture on any given day when he bagged an equalizer against Colorado, fending off his marker before pirouetting his way into the box and finishing with authority.

More of that, and he could find himself making a World Cup appearance next summer.

2. Robin Lod vs Portland

Who says Finns are only valued on ice? Well, Robin Lod's goal from the weekend will certainly offer up evidence that football is alive and well in the Nordics.

His delightful touch to settle a long ball into the box was straight out of the Thierry Henry school of wizardry, only for him to maintain his balance and slot home a side-footed effort to restore parity against visiting Portland.

The Finn continues to enjoy the finest period of his career with Minnesota, and looks set to cement himself as a club icon by the time he hands up his boots.

1. Eduard Löwen vs Houston

It would not be an MLS matchday weekend without a thunderous drive making it into the top five goals list, so we can thank St. Louis' Eduard Löwen for submitting this hit against Houston.

Down 3-0 in the final five minutes of action, the German midfielder turned expert marksman with a smashed effort into the top corner on the volley in a bid to kick-start a dramatic comeback in front of home support. St. Louis would ultimately lose by a goal, but Löwen can at least look back fondly on this wonderstrike and smile.
