Newcastle United fans have just seen the 2024/25 Premier League season come to its end.

A season that has proved to be quite magnificent.

As one season ends though, thoughts immediately turn to what comes next, only 11 weeks to go until the 2025/26 Premier League kicks off.

An ideal time to get a snapshot of views from Newcastle United fans on their thoughts, both on the season that has just ended AND what is to now follow.

So we sent out questions to a number of regular/irregular contributors to The Mag.

Next up answering the questions we have Nat Seaton:

Three words to describe how you currently feel as a Newcastle fan? Happy. Excited. Grateful.

Three words to describe Newcastle United now? Ambitious. Exciting. Teamwork.

Does 2024/25 now rank as your favourite ever Newcastle United season? Yes.

It just has to be after what happened at Wembley and then playing the way we did until the end of the season to get into the Champions League.

Talk us through how it was for you, on the last day of the 2024/25 season.

It was an emotional rollercoaster of a day.

Watching the game in the Leazes End with no mobile signal or wifi at the ground (don’t get me started on that as it is a real bugbear for me!), it wasn’t until Man United went 2-0 up that we heard anything around us so that was a big help!

Even then I still couldn’t quite believe/accept it, and the way Schar collapsed in front of us hands in head at the final whistle, he felt the same.

I must admit once they put the image up on the screen and started to play the Champions League music, I got very emotional (not Wembley levels!).

It had been a strange few hours, from having confidence going into the game, to feeling so low, and then such joy, the life of a Newcastle United fan…

In order, which eight players have been most influential across the 2024/25 season?

Tonali, Isak, Bruno, Murphy, Joelinton, Big Dan, Tino, Hall

Have you at any point during his time at Newcastle United, thought that Eddie Howe’s position should be under question?

No, absolutely NOT.

Your favourite three moments in NUFC matches this past season?

Big Dan goal at Wembley, Isak goal at Wembley and the time from Gordon scoring the second goal to the final whistle in the Carabao Cup Semi 2nd leg at SJP.

Sunderland are now back in the same division as NUFC, your thoughts?

Don’t shout me down…but I have always preferred having them in the same league.

Derby matches (good and bad) add to a season.

It helps that we are in a different league to them on the pitch so, what is not to like in seeing them struggle through next season?

What would represent success in the 2025/26 season for Newcastle United?

Finishing as high as 3rd in the League and a good showing in the Champions League.

What do you see as the minimum to achieve this coming season?

Top four Premier League and 24th or above in the Champions League league stage, to have a stab at getting through to the next round.

Predict the top six in the Premier League (in order).

Man City, Liverpool, Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa

Name a Newcastle player who you think could be a massive surprise success this coming season, doing far better than most fans expect.

Lewis Hall.

Who do you see as the six most important current Newcastle players (in order) for next (2025/26) season?

Tonali, Isak, Bruno, Gordon, Hall, Tino

With NUFC now having won a trophy…Next three seasons, would you rather finish top four all three seasons BUT win nothing, or finish mid-table all three seasons AND win the League Cup in one of the three? Having now won it, and it being the League Cup, (in the question) I’d take top four.

What do you think was the key moment in the 2024/25 season, the turning point maybe, which then set us eventually on track to success?

Isak’s goal at the Emirates in the 1st leg of the Carabao Cup Semi Final. Maybe Gordon doesn’t score the second and you could go on… but coming back with a two goal lead and then doing what we did in the 2nd leg, then all the way to lifting the trophy at 6.45pm on the 16th March, was all started for me by that brilliant Isak goal.

Which players do you think would be ideal?

I know he has been heavily linked, but I like Mbeumo and I think he would fit into an Eddie Howe setup with great success.

Any Newcastle players you would be ok with leaving, that might surprise other NUFC fans (Including any where you think the money received for them and the extra PSR flexibility it would give, could then lead to an overall better team/squad)?
