Manchester United have told Alejandro Garnacho that Chelsea must meet their £50m asking price if he’s to complete a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea have been busy this window and have made four signings in Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.
The Blues are in negotiations with Leipzig for Xavi Simons, with a deal close, whilst they also want to add Garnacho to the squad.
Chelsea are believed to want eight or nine attacking options to rotate between next season as they prepare to return to the Champions League.
The immediate priority is to complete a deal for Simons, and the 22-year-old has made it clear he wants to join Chelsea, although the Blues are yet to make an offer.

Garancho is another player Chelsea like, and they’ve been linked with the Argentine since January, with those links continuing through the summer.
Chelsea have opened talks with Garnacho, who only wants to join the west London outfit, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.
The Blues reportedly don’t want to pay more than £30m, but The Telegraph have reported United have told Garnacho if he’s going to join Chelsea then they must meet the £50m valuation.
The report adds Chelsea are confident Garnacho only wants to join them and will turn down all offers from elsewhere, including Italy.
With a move for Garnacho accelerating, it looks like Nicolas Jackson is heading to the exit door with a number of clubs interested in his services.

Jackson isn’t expected to take part in either of the friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday, or AC Milan on Sunday.
Chelsea are said to have set their valuation at £80m, with the likes of Newcastle and Tottenham interested, whilst Italian clubs are also keeping an eye, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
