It’s now been 48 hours since our demoralising defeat at Ibrox, and while it’s still a sore one we must get it out of our system and focus on the challenges ahead.

Time to move on. Ibrox shambles now in the past

We were very poor on Thursday there is no getting away from it, but it’s now in the past and we can’t do anything about it, so it’s time to shake it out of our system and make amends starting tomorrow when we host St Mirren at Paradise.

The Buddies themselves are arriving on the back of a defeat, their second in successive matches, so they too will also be looking to improve and will ultimately set up to frustrate us so we will have to work hard to get a result against the parked bus.

The players owe everyone, including themselves, a big performance

We have to play much better and show more fight than we did at Ibrox that’s for sure. The players not only owe themselves and the manager that, but they also owe us, the Celtic supporters, a performance and result to make amends for their horror no-show in Govan. Imagine making that lot look half decent?

We are still the best side in the country as the league table never lies, and tomorrow is the chance to remind everybody of that by getting back to winning ways and putting Thursdays defeat firmly behind us. Defeats happen, it was simply a bad day at the office on Thursday and Brendan even hinted that going into the game with a 14 points advantage may have taken the edge of the Celtic performance.

Still the outcome means that we are ‘only’ 11 points ahead going into our first home match of 2025, with all three trophies won in 2024 available to see by taking a Celtic Park Tour – few, if any of us would not have taken that position if offered to us a year ago today.

So play up Glasgow Celtic. It is time to put on a show.
