Brad Guzan has been a superhero for Atlanta United since they snuck into the postseason on Decision Day in MLS.
At the ripe age of 40-years-old, Guzan has put on a performance for the ages in between the sticks to help Atlanta reach an unlikely Eastern Conference semifinal.
Across a three-game series with Inter Miami, Guzan kept out the firepower of Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi quiet in timely moments to keep his side in touching distance of the eventual upset.
With the dust settled after the opening round of the MLS Cup Playoffs, let's look back at some of the stunning numbers Guzan put up since the final day of the season.
In match three of the Miami series, Guzan was credited with nine saves, a new Atlanta United playoff record.
Including the final day of the regular season, Guzan made 32 saves in five game, the most in any five-match stretch of his career.
After the stunning game three performance in Fort Lauderdale, Guzan revealed where the match ranked in his career personally.
"Yeah, it’s up there, man,” he said. “But you know what? This is behind me. It’s on to the next one. Keep it going.”
Up next for Guzan and Atlanta is an Eastern Conference semifinal showdown with Orlando City.
