Hansi Flick won his first El Clasico last night as his FC Barcelona team got a 4-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. After a goalless first half, the Catalans amped up their game in the second half and scored four goals past Andriy Lunin.

Two of these goals were scored by the veteran striker Robert Lewandowski. The first came with a clever through-ball from Marc Casado, which carved up the Real Madrid backline, and the Polish striker was just onside to take full advantage of it.

The second came from a good cross from Alejandro Balde, only a minute after the first goal, which perfectly found Lewandowski between Militao and Rudiger, and the Pole’s header was directed perfectly to beat the Merengue goalkeeper. With this brace, the Barcelona superstar now has seventeen goals in fourteen matches.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Pole also talked to the media after the game and expressed his happiness with his goals and the result in general:

“I’m very proud and happy, not just because of the two goals, but also for how the team played. This is a very important victory; it’s not easy to score four goals in a stadium like this.”

Lewandowski also highlighted one of the aspects that has made Barcelona so good this season:

“The most important thing is that as a team we play very offensively. We always want to score more goals, no matter who we’re playing against. For us, it’s essential to always have the mindset of going for more.”

This FC Barcelona team has clearly shown this desire to score as many goals as possible this season. The Blaugranes have scored 37 goals in La Liga in their first 11 matches, which is 16 goals more than the second-placed Real Madrid, who have scored 21 goals up to now.
