Manchester City suffered another disappointing result as they were held to a 2-2 home draw by Brighton, with an own goal by Abdukodir Khusanov sealing the point for the Seagulls.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest consolidated their position in third place in the Premier League with a 4-2 win over strugglers Ipswich Town.

The Tractor Boys are alarmingly adrift at the bottom of the table, their record only better than Southampton, who lost 2-1 at home to fellow strugglers Wolves.

David Moyes' unbeaten record as Everton boss continues, but only just, as a stoppage time goal from Jake O'Brien rescued a point in the capital for the Toffees.

Brentford's prolific forward line of Brian Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa combined as the Bees came back to defeat Bournemouth 2-1.

Sometimes, games are decided by moments.

And just when Wolves really needed it, Jorgen Strand Larsen popped up with a brace without his side having created very much at all.

How Southampton could do with a player like him.

Stat of the day 📊

Manchester City's miserable campaign continues, and they are shipping goals left, right and centre.

Brighton took a point at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon, following seven consecutive defeats away at Man City.

An Annus Horribilis for Pep.

What this means 🤔

With a win for Wolves and defeat for both Southampton and Ipswich, the Midlands club move nine points clear of the drop zone with nine games remaining.

Manchester City sit in fifth position with 48 points, but Chelsea above them (49 points) and Newcastle below them (47 points) have both played a game less.

A point apiece for Everton and West Ham means that both sides join Manchester United and Tottenham on 34 points.

Meanwhile, Brentford moved up to 11th place, just three points behind Bournemouth in ninth, with the race for Europe tighter than ever.

What they said 🗣️

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was asked whether he thinks the race to reach the Champions League next season will go down to the last game. "It looks like but I don’t know," the tactician told reporters. "There are nine games. Nine finals. At least we didn’t lose."

And while adversary Fabian Hürzeler acknowledged his side's achievement in getting a point, he felt his side probably should've come away with all three. "It is a fact it's the first time we have got a point here but we are disappointed it's not three," the German boss told the press. "Decision making in the first half wasn’t at the highest level for us."

After a crushing defeat to relegation rivals Wolves, Southampton boss Ivan Jurić admitted his side's fate. “We will go down," the former Torino boss said. "But [we want to go down] with more fight, more dignity and more everything.”

“I think we are living a good life here. There is not too much pressure. If we are in Italy, you cannot go out, you cannot go with your kids to school, you cannot go to the restaurant. It's completely different.”

What comes next?

Sunday sees Arsenal host Chelsea, Spurs travel to Fulham and Ruud van Nistelrooy meet up with his former side as Leicester take on Manchester United.
