Chelsea’s sporting directors will carry out a review on the performance of Enzo Maresca in the summer of 2026 according to The Athletic.
Marsesca was appointed as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor last summer after guiding Leicester to the Championship title.
The 45-year-old penned a five year deal at Stamford Bridge and has been tasked with getting the Blues back into the Champions League and winning silverware.
Maresca made a brilliant start to life in west London with the Blues finding themselves in the title conversation in the build-up to Christmas.
However, since then things have taken a turn for the worse and Chelsea have dropped to sixth in the table following their 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Friday night.
Chelsea are currently on a run of just two wins in their last nine league games, but the club insist they are happy with the job Maresca is doing.

John Obi Mikel has claimed it would be a disaster if the Blues once again missed out on Champions League qualification again.
However, much to the annoyance of supporters Maresca has insisted he was told that wasn’t the target for this campaign.
Maresca is no doubt under pressure, but Chelsea really can’t afford to through yet another managerial change given how turbulent things have been over the past two years.
The Athletic have reported Chelsea’s plan is for sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart to carry out a performance review in the summer of 2026, and there’s no current plans to bring that forward.

That sounds like the plan is very much for Maresca to be in charge next season, but as we know with Chelsea nothing can ever be considered a certainty.
Full focus will be on trying to qualify for the Champions League and winning the Conference League this season, but Chelsea have to get back competing for major trophies as soon as possible.
