How did we play?

Still nowhere near the full package and dropped off in the second half again but definite improvements. Created plenty of chances and promising attacking positions, several of which we should have made more of (some very wet areas around the penalty box causing slipping at important moments didn’t help). Mad Vlad needed to do his thing on a few occasions but on the whole we were much more solid and organised at the back than recent games and it was nice to see us stepping up and catching Blackburn offside several times.

What was the best bit of the game?

Josh smashing it into the top corner from outside the box and then slapping his badge in front of the away end. He’s not leaving!!!*

What was the worst bit of the game?

Todd Cantwell’s approach to captaincy.

What was the atmosphere like?

A fair bit of chanting about a certain player, as you would expect, but most of the energy was rightly given to the team and there was a good sense of togetherness in the celebrations at the end.

Hero of the match

Josh will get all the headlines this weekend so let’s give some praise to Harry Darling, who was absolutely imperious and in the first half did an epic sliding tackle that was celebrated like a goal. A great signing.
