FLW looks at three players that are likely to depart the Robins in the upcoming January transfer window.

Bristol City will be looking forward to the January transfer window already.

It has been a pretty average start to the 2024/25 campaign for the Robins, who seem to lack consistency at the moment, which is something Liam Manning will need to address very soon if he has hopes of a top-half finish.

Granted, the Robins have had to endure a number of injuries, with the likes of Rob Dickie, Rob Atkinson and Ross McCrorie all spending time on the sidelines, so Manning has had to improvise on occasion.

In the summer, Manning spent some time bringing in new additions to the squad. Scott Twine and Luke McNally both signed permanently from Burnley and have been key players for the Robins, while the likes of Sinclair Armstrong and Fally Mayulu also linked up with the squad.

There are still improvements to be made though, and January will be the next opportunity to do so, not only with new additions but ironing out the squad and seeing some players depart.

With that in mind, Football League World has picked out three Bristol City players that we expect to leave the club in January.

Kal Naismith

Kal Naismith is a player at the twilight of his career, and unfortunately that means the quality of performance has decreased.

The 32-year-old is very much a squad player at Ashton Gate, and when he did earn his first league start of the season, the side lost 3-0 to Derby County.

Naismith has always been a player with all-round qualities, but those qualities are slightly subpar for where Bristol City want to be. The defender has spent over two years with the club now, but it might be time to cash in before his contract expires next summer.

As soon as Rob Dickie returns from injury, Naismith's game time will decrease even further, and you'd imagine that there will be several clubs interested in such a versatile player with guaranteed quality on the ball - perhaps a top-end League One move could be on his horizon.

Harry Cornick

Harry Cornick's time at Ashton Gate has not gone to plan, and he could very well leave the club in January.

Cornick had previously been a valuable player at Luton Town, and was a big part of their rise from League Two to the Championship.

When he signed for Bristol City ,there was a hope that he would bring goals and energy to the front line, but he has sadly failed to live up to expectations.

Last season he was involved in the majority of their Championship games, but mostly as a sub, having made just seven league starts in the whole of the campaign.

This season, he has struggled to even make the matchday squad, so it only feels like a matter of time until he leaves the club. Liam Manning clearly does not see the forward in his plans, so it may be time to cash in this January.

Omar Taylor-Clarke

Omar Taylor-Clarke has been with Bristol City since under-13 level and made his professional debut with the Robins at the age of 19, but he is yet to really earn a run of games with the first team.

The Welsh midfielder spent a couple of months on loan in the National League South last season, but only made two starts for Weston-super-Mare, so perhaps he will be looking for another chance to prove himself this season, and January will be the perfect opportunity for that.

Of course, if the 20-year-old were to head to non-league, he could do that before January arrives, but if the Robins could get Taylor-Clarke a League Two loan, then it could be very good for his development.
