Levi Colwill believes Chelsea still have a lot to improve on and explained why the Blues aren’t in the title race following their win against Tottenham.

Chelsea made it four Premier League wins in a row as they staged a brilliant comeback to beat Spurs 4-3 having been 2-0 down in the first 12 minutes.

Marc Cucurella slipped twice which led to Spurs scoring, but Jadon Sancho pulled one back with a great strike, before Chelsea upped their level in the second half thanks to Enzo Fernandez and two Cole Palmer penalties, the second an audacious Panenka.

Colwill on the title race

The win saw Chelsea close the gap on leaders Liverpool to four points, although they have a game in hand after the Merseyside derby was postponed, but the Blues are now two points clear of Arsenal in third following their draw against Fulham.

Enzo Maresca has insisted on multiple occasions this season the Blues aren’t in a title race, but with every game Chelsea win that talk seems to increase.

It feels like the squad are very much taking it one game at a time and Chelsea are in a great position to return to the Champions League with the gap to fifth now six points.

Simon Jordan feels Chelsea are best placed to challenge Liverpool for the title and Colwill was asked about the title race after the game and admitted the Blues still had a a lot improve on.

“We have still got a lot to improve on, when we’re ready to push for a title we won’t be 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes,” he told Sky Sports.

Colwill will most likely be given the night off as Chelsea travel to Kazakhstan on Thursday to take on Astana in the Conference League before hosting Brentford on Sunday in the Premier League.
