The tense situation between FC Barcelona and Marc-Andre ter Stegen is truly unbecoming of a captain. Going from bad to worse, the relationship between the two parties continues to deteriorate, and every new update only further confirms the grim reality.

According to a recent update provided by SPORT, Ter Stegen made it clear to Barça that the club’s doctors would not be allowed to set foot in his home to assess his health or physical condition. This was in response to the club’s medical department requesting to visit his residence to assess his post-op progress.

As it stands, the player remains firm about blocking the club’s approaches to assess him on their terms. Moreover, he continues to be adamant about not giving his consent to Barça when it comes to sending his medical reports to La Liga in order to de-register him and use the freed up 80% of his salary to register other players.

This stand-off between Barça and the German goalkeeper continues to reach new heights and both sides continue to trust their own egos and respect their own objectives. Unfortunately, this only further invites criticism and negative consequences.

Just recently, Barça even decided to strip the player’s captaincy in response to this ongoing tension. However, it seems that the decision has not changed much in terms of altering either side’s plans to see out their own respective goals.

As for player registrations, the unexpected but imminent departure of Inigo Martinez could potentially help. Other operations will likely contribute as well, but it seems that Barça will end up finding a way with or without Ter Stegen’s help.
