Robert Vilahamn confirmed that Ella Morris could be in contention for our Barclays Women’s Super League clash against Aston Villa on Sunday (4.30pm UK).
The England youth international, who joined us in the summer after five years at Southampton, missed our opening day victory over Crystal Palace last Sunday (22 September) and the Head Coach is hopeful that Ella will return for our first away game of the season.
Unfortunately, Amy James-Turner (concussion), Kit Graham (ACL) and Shuang Wang will all be unavailable for Sunday’s clash, while defender Luana Bühler will be assessed on Saturday whether she can make the trip to Villa Park.
Speaking to the national media on Thursday afternoon in the pre-match press conference, Robert explained: “Ella could be back in the matchday squad for Sunday but there is a question mark with Luana, so we will check her on Saturday as she has a small issue.”
Robert also confirmed that Amanda Nilden has trained all week and will be available for our trip to Villa Park after she suffered a black eye in our encounter against Palace. He added: “We looked after her first few days to make sure everything had settled.
“She has trained well, taking part in every session, so she is fine…she is a warrior.”
