The Swans are looking to strengthen in the final third before the end of the summer transfer window.
Swansea City have submitted a bid for Swedish striker Jusef Erabi as they continue their search for a new centre-forward.
Alan Sheehan has been in the market for a new striker this summer, as Liam Cullen, Zan Vipotnik and Bobby Wales are his only senior options in that position following the departures of Mykola Kukharevych and Jerry Yates to Slovan Bratislava and Luton Town respectively.
Swansea launched a £4.5 million bid for Wycombe Wanderers star Richard Kone at the end of July - FLW has exclusively revealed they're preparing a third and final offer - and they were also linked with a move for free agent Oli McBurnie, but both of those deals now seem unlikely to be completed, according to BBC Sport.
Therefore, their attention has turned towards Jusef Erabi, who might be able to hit the ground running in the Championship as Hammarby are currently in the middle of their season in Sweden.
The Swans have made an approach for the 22-year-old, who has attracted interest from a number of clubs in Europe after impressing during his time at Hammarby, as per Football Insider.
Hammarby are currently embroiled in a title race in the Allsvenskan, the top-flight of Swedish football, and Erabi has been a regular feature in the side.
The 22-year-old has scored three goals in his last five matches in all competitions, and Swansea will be hoping that he can carry that form into the new Championship season if they are able to complete a deal to bring him to Wales.
Erabi scored during Hammarby's UEFA Europa Conference League second round qualifying victory over Belgian side Royal Charleroi S.C. last week, and he also has experience of representing Sweden internationally at under-21 level.
He was named Hammarby's Player of the Year in 2023, and has developed into an important player for the club as they pursue just a second league title in their history, so he could be a shrewd addition for Swansea if they are successful in their attempt to sign him before the end of the transfer window.
The Sweden youth international is contracted with Hammarby until December 2026.
If Swansea signed Erabi ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, it would give Alan Sheehan a different option in attack as he looks to improve on last season's 11th-place finish in the Championship.
One of the striker's main strengths is his movement, with his ability to time runs from deep making him difficult to defend against and giving his teammates an outlet in the final third.
His acceleration makes him a threat, especially against teams that play with a higher line, which could be hugely important in games where Swansea are perhaps not seen as the favourites and need to make the most of their opportunities on the break.
He is effective in the press, which is no surprise given his physical attributes, so he could prove to be a useful addition for Swansea both in and out of possession.
If the Swans can bring in Erabi before the end of the transfer window, they will have a few different options at their disposal, and it remains to be seen whether they make any further moves, as it is clear that Sheehan wants to revamp his striking department.
