FLW identify three potential Zan Vipotnik replacements this summer.
Swansea City's Zan Vipotnik is a player on several transfer shortlists this summer.
The Slovenian joined up with the Swans in the summer after the mutual termination of his contract with Bordeaux.
His first season in South Wales has been blighted by inconsistency, but at times he has shown glimpses of what he could become with seven goals in 40 appearances.
These flashes have caught the eyes of others and according to TEAMTalk, clubs from Germany, Belgium and Saudi Arabia are all tracking the player.
However, in something of a boost for Sheehan's side, the striker has recently spoken of his ambition to become a more integral part of the club in 2025-26. That said, minds can change quickly, and should a tempting offer come in from abroad, the Slovenian might well be tempted to reconsider his future.
With this in mind, Football League World have identified three strikes who could replace Vipotnik should he leave.
Divin Mubama made the switch from West Ham United to Manchester City last summer and has spent the current season predominantly featuring for the Cityzens' academy side.
Having netted 58 goals in 91 appearances for West Ham’s Under-18 and Under-21 teams, he has carried that form seamlessly into life in Manchester, scoring an impressive 12 goals in just nine Premier League 2 appearances.
He even marked his senior debut for City with a goal, finding the net in an emphatic 8–0 FA Cup victory over Salford City.
Now 20 years old, Mubama is in need of regular first-team football - and Swansea City could offer the perfect setting for him to find it.
While he might arrive as something of an unknown quantity, he brings with him a host of attributes that could benefit the Welsh side. Physically strong, capable of holding the ball up, and boasting a clinical edge in front of goal, Mubama’s finishing is particularly impressive for a player of his age.
A cost-effective addition, he could well prove to be a shrewd loan signing and potentially a real gem for Swansea.
Ryan Hardie has been a standout performer for Plymouth Argyle over the past few seasons.
Having initially joined the Pilgrims on loan from Blackpool during the 2019–20 and 2020–21 campaigns, he went on to sign permanently and has since played a pivotal role in their rise to the Championship.
Despite scoring 22 goals across his last two seasons at this level, it now appears that relegation may be looming. While that would be a bitter blow for the Devon club, it could open the door for a side like Swansea to take advantage.
A drop to League One would likely see Hardie available for a reduced fee - particularly with just one year remaining on his deal at Home Park. In such circumstances, Plymouth’s negotiating position would be far from strong.
Granted, Hardie isn’t a 20-goal-a-season striker, but he is a dependable presence up front. With the right service, he could certainly offer Swansea a consistent goal threat and valuable experience at this level.
The most ambitious potential signing on this list is undoubtedly Danny Ings.
The seasoned Premier League striker is out of contract at West Ham this summer and could represent an experienced option for Swansea City to explore.
While his wages would no doubt be on the higher side, Ings may well be open to a move to the Championship at this stage in his career - and he would certainly bring proven quality in front of goal.
His last full campaign at this level came with Burnley, where he struck 21 goals in 40 appearances - form he carried into the top flight. His standout Premier League season arrived in 2019–20, when he netted 22 times for Southampton, and he has 72 top-flight goals to his name overall.
Though his time at the London Stadium has seen opportunities limited, a fresh start at a club like Swansea could provide the spark he needs to reignite his career.
At 32, Ings still has plenty to offer and for the Swans, this could be an experienced and potentially inspired addition to the squad.
