Swansea boss Russell Martin 'expected' to become new Southampton coach | OneFootball

Swansea coach Russell Martin is reportedly on the verge of becoming Southampton’s new first team manager.

That’s according to a report from the Athletic which claims that Martin has agreed terms with the recently relegated Premier League side.

Saints have finished bottom of this season’s Premier League, winning just six games all campaign.

But the 37-year-old has, according to the Athletic, decided to leave Swansea and go to the St Mary’s Stadium.

Although there has been no official approach from Southampton as yet, it is claimed that talks will commence next week and are expected to be swift.

Martin led Swansea to 10th in the Championship this season, finishing just three points outside of the play-offs.
