Sunderland looking to bring Granit Xhaka back to the Premier League | OneFootball

Sunderland are reportedly looking to bring former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka back to the Premier League.

Xhaka left the Gunners after seven seasons with the club in 2023 to return to German football and join Bayer Leverkusen. The Switzerland international helped the club to a surprise Bundesliga title in the 2023/24 campaign and a second place finish last year.

Various reports have suggested that newly-promoted Sunderland are looking to bring Xhaka in to add some experience to Régis Le Bris' side.

A deal may not be easy though, Xhaka still has three years left on his Leverkusen contract while Saudi Pro League clubs have also been linked with a move for the 32-year-old.

In total, Xhaka has played 99 times for Leverkusen, scoring six goals and assisting nine more.
