FLW's Sunderland fan pundit has given his verdict on Jayden Danns potentially signing for the club again this summer

Sunderland are set for talks with Liverpool over the potential re-signing of Jayden Danns on loan.
According to The Northern Echo, the two clubs are set to discuss a potential deal to bring the forward back to the Stadium of Light on another loan.
The 19-year-old arrived at the Wearside outfit at the end of the January transfer window last season, but failed to make a single appearance in Régis Le Bris’ side due to injury.
Sunderland are now preparing for life in the Premier League after their play-off final triumph over Sheffield United.
When asked about the prospect of signing Danns this summer, FLW’s Sunderland fan pundit Jack Austwicke claimed he’d be open to bringing the player back again.
He believes that the youngster has the potential to add five to 10 goals to the team next season, so would be fine with him taking up a potential loan spot.
“The Danns would be interesting, I think,” Austwicke told Football League World.
“It was a disaster of a transfer in January, not that it cost anything but, he signed on loan, never played a minute for Sunderland.
“But, I think he has played for Liverpool, he scored in the FA Cup, he’s been in and around the first team.
“So I think taking him on loan would be a decent signing for a loan.
“Someone to come in and get us five to 10 goals across the season in the Premier League, which I think he could probably do.
“He needs that bit of experience, he’s not going into the Liverpool team straight away.
“But it’s whether we feel he’s ready.
“We scouted him out enough to want to sign him in the Championship, but do the people in charge believe he’s good enough to make that step to the Premier League? I think that’s the question.
“But, I’m not sure exactly how many loan slots you get, but if you get a fair few then I don’t see why it wouldn’t be worth the risk.”
Sunderland finished fourth in the Championship table, before beating Coventry City and Sheffield United on their way to play-off success.
The move for Danns in the January window obviously went terribly for the player, but Sunderland obviously saw talent in him if they were willing to sign him in the first place.
The step up to the Premier League does raise some questions over whether he’d be ready to play regularly at that level.
But he would still provide some healthy competition and depth to their attacking options, and there’s little risk in bringing in a loan player.
They will need to weigh up their loan slots, but bringing in Danns could prove a sensible move as long as his fitness is no longer in question.
