While Manchester United were preparing to host Everton at Old Trafford, their fans took the opportunity to make their voices heard over the ticket prices row.

The hierarchy has recently decided to increase the prices of the tickets that haven’t yet been sold, setting them at £66 regardless of their location in the stands, while also abolishing concessions.

Needless to say, this decision has been incredibly unpopular with the fanbase, with a large section of the supporters already beginning to turn on the club’s relatively new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils supporters launched a large protest ahead of Sunday’s clash against Everton.

So while the atmosphere was warm and jubilant during the 4-0 victory over the Toffees, it had been preceded by a wave of anger and irritation outside Old Trafford before kickoff.

“Stop Exploiting Loyalty” reads one of the banners held by the supporters, while others included some less than pleasant words towards Ratcliffe and fellow owners, the Glazers.

The Man United faithful are even willing to put their rivalries with Manchester City and Liverpool aside and collaborate with their fellow supporters in this shared cause.

“The rivalry between these four clubs has been, and is, fierce. But we all go to games, love our club, and want to keep football affordable for future generations while protecting heritage and communities,” said a spokesperson for Man United fan group FC58.

On the other hand, the Man United management insists that 97% of the supporters won’t be affected by the changes as only 3% of the tickets remain on display, while the fans consider the start of an undesirable trajectory.
