This midweek, there is plenty of action for Tottenham Hotspur’s loanees, with games both in the English Football League, and across the continent.

In the Championship, there are games on Tuesday evening for both Dane Scarlett’s Oxford United and Ashley Phillips’ Stoke City. For Scarlett and Oxford, they face Sheffield United on the road, with the loanee hoping for a start here – having scored his fifth goal in nine games for club and country off the bench in their defeat at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

As for Phillips, he has started the last six games in a row for Stoke, and will be hoping to make that seven, as they host Preston North End, with both games kicking off at 19:45 GMT.

In League One, there is action for Josh Keeley and Jamie Donley’s Leyton Orient, as well as Matthew Craig’s Barnsley. For Keeley, Donley, and Orient, they host Huddersfield Town, as they look to build on four points and two clean sheets in their last two games. As for Donley, he has been the loanee sacrificed from the match day squad in recent games.

As for Craig and Barnsley, they host Reading as they look to bounce back from a frustrating defeat at home to Wigan Athletic on Saturday. Craig was an unused sub once again for that game, and has not started a game for Darrell Clarke’s side since the 5th of October. Both games are 19:45 GMT kick offs.

Finally, on Wednesday - in a bit of a culture switch - there is UEFA Champions League action for Bryan Gil and his Girona side. They travel to Austria to face Sturm Graz, who are one of just five teams to have lost all four of their Champions League games so far this campaign.

As for Girona, they do only sit four places above their hosts, with the Spanish side currently occupying 29th spot, which is five places off a play-off spot for the knockout stages, so this is a must win game and a big opportunity for them.

They will fancy their chances to do so, coming into this game full of confidence, with a 4-1 win over RCD Espanyol at the weekend. In that game, Gil scored one goal and provided a further two assists, having scored his first goal for the Spain national team earlier in the week.  Kick off here is 17:45 GMT.
