RedBird’s model of success at AC Milan involves buying the right players at low prices, and a young star from Verona could offer the club a huge opportunity.
In defence, it seems really clear that Milan are going to look to invest in another central player, with Fikayo Tomori potentially likely to leave the club. Especially after the attempts to part ways in January and his lessening game time since.
To replace him/bolster things, it seems the Rossoneri are looking at the younger bracket of defenders, and this follows information that the club were looking to French gem Maxime Esteve from Burnley this afternoon.
According to Sportitalia (via Milan Press), the club are also making considerations about Diego Coppola, the 21-year-old defensive stalwart from Hellas Verona. Already in his fourth year of top flight football, he is very much ready for a step-up and the Diavolo could offer this.
However, it will not be a given, as Juventus are also considering the young defender, regardless of what happens with their head coach, Thiago Motta. Perhaps, if the Italian departs, they would also be less inclined to attempt a move for Tomori, so it could make a move for Coppola more likely.
