Sporting Lisbon will give the ‘green light’ to any packages worth €65m (£54.6m) for Viktor Gyokeres this summer.
Gyokeres is certain to leave Sporting Lisbon this summer after two prolific campaigns in Portugal. The Swedish striker has scored 96 goals in 101 games for Sporting, leading the Primeira Liga for goals in each of the last two campaigns.
Several sides are in discussions to sign Gyokeres, who is the current leader in the race for the European Golden Shoe.
Gyokeres has remained coy on his future and his focused on ending the season successfully with Sporting. After securing the Primeira Liga title at the weekend, he gave little away in an update on his future.
“My next club? We can’t predict the future. We never know what happens,” the striker said.
“I’m focused now on celebrating this title and try win the Taça de Portugal.”
Arsenal and Manchester United are two of the clubs in pursuit of the 26-year-old, though almost each of Europe’s elite have enquired.
Andrea Berta, Arsenal’s new sporting director, is understood to be a huge admirer. Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, is keen on a reunion with Gyokeres at Manchester United having worked with the forward at Sporting before his move to the Premier League.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Sporting will accept packages of around €65m for the player, due to an agreement between Gyokeres and the club made several months ago. The forward has a release clause of €100m in his contract at The Estádio José Alvalade.
