Manchester United fans were once again left disappointed by Rasmus Hojlund who was let down by his heavy touch.

Less than 72 hours removed from their final Premier League contest, the Red Devils returned to the pitch in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday to take on the ASEAN All-Stars in the first of two post-season friendlies.

As one might have expected, the long and gruelling campaign coupled with the long trip to East Asia, has taken its toll on Ruben Amorim’s men who looked exhausted and uninspired. They ended suffering a 0-1 defeat after conceding a goal in the 71st minute.

The Portuguese manager tried to freshen things up by introducing youngsters in the starting lineup, namely Reece Stafford Munro and Jack Moorhouse, but the formation also included underperforming players who appeared as if they would have rather been anywhere else.

This arguably applies to Hojlund who led the line once again, but failed to inflict any sort of damage upfront.

Like several of his teammates, the Dane earned an abysmal mark of 5/10 on the player ratings handed by Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, who described him as ‘sloppy on the ball and never really looked a threat’.

Moreover, a circulating clip on social media left the fans appalled by the 22-year-old’s poor touch.

While receiving a ball from the back, Hojlund had enough time and space to muster up something, but while trying to play in Moorhouse, his touch was too heavy that it went above his teammate, thus giving away possession cheaply.

Needless to say, a blunder committed in a friendly held on the other side of the globe is hardly an unforgivable sin; however, such has been the frustration with Hojlund among Man United supporters that they can no longer tolerate his clumsy mistakes on the ball.”
