Noah Okafor might well still get the move to RB Leipzig that he wants even if the deal did not accelerate towards a conclusion as quickly as thought.

Fabrizio Romano was among the sources to state earlier in the week that Milan and Leipzig have agreed a loan deal for Okafor, with an option to buy that is set at a surprisingly high€25-28m.

The player was expected to do his medical and sign the contract on Friday, but then Gianluca Di Marzio spoke of there being a blockage because the Swiss forward is still carrying an injury and the German club are looking at other targets.

Now, a new update has come from Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, who has tweeted the following: As of 3:55 PM German time there is still no total agreement between RB Leipzig and AC Milan about a loan deal for Noah Okafor.

“High buy-option demands from Milan, loan terms, and the player’s injury history… not an easy transfer for RB. However, the deal is not off either with Okafor still wants to join Leipzig.

“Verbal agreement is done. More rounds of talks scheduled for today after the match against Werder Bremen.”

Therefore, we could see another push forward in negotiations in the next 24 hours, which could then in turn free up a spot in the squad and some funds to go sign a winger.
