Luton were relegated at the end of their maiden Premier League campaign last season, although they performed far better over the course of the season than many predicted.

The Hatters will be hoping that they can bounce back to the top flight at the first time of asking next season.

Let's take a look at five players in the EFL who could improve Luton's squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Callum O'Hare

Following confirmation that Callum O'Hare has left Coventry City at the end of his contract, Luton should be keeping close tabs on him.

The midfielder will not be short of offers this summer, having been linked with Leeds United and Celtic, and may well be hoping for a move to the Premier League this summer.

Having sold Ross Barkley to Aston Villa, Luton need to find a replacement in the middle of the pitch. If they can convince O'Hare to be part of a promotion push at Kenilworth Road next season, the 26-year-old would be an excellent signing on a free transfer.

Sorba Thomas

Huddersfield Town winger Sorba Thomas could be a shrewd addition for Luton this summer.

The Terriers suffered relegation to League One last season, so the 25-year-old could be looking to make a move back into the Championship.

According to Fotmob, Thomas had the most expected assists in the second tier last season, and only Ipswich Town left-back Leif Davis created more chances. He also scored nine goals and provided four assists as part of a relegated side.

While he is most effective on the wing, Thomas is also capable of playing right wing-back. Following the expiry of Issa Kabore's loan from Manchester City, Luton could do with a new addition in that area of the pitch.

Cameron Pring

Ryan Giles has already left Luton and joinedHull City permanently this summer, and Alfie Doughty is attracting interest from the Premier League, so Luton are likely to be in the market for a new left wing-back this summer.

Cameron Pring could be a good signing for the Hatters. If Doughty stays at the club, the Bristol City left-back would provide Edwards with a more defensive option in that position. He is also a good dribbler, which is a useful trait in Edwards' system.

It may not be the easiest deal for Luton to complete considering the 26-year-old signed a new contract last year, but if they can convince him that he will have a better chance of promotion at Kenilworth Road, then it might be possible.

Sam Gallagher

Luton striker Elijah Adebayo, who scored 10 goals in the Premier League last season, has attracted interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.

If the 26-year-old moves on this summer, Luton could look to bring in another physical striker to compete for a place in the starting eleven.

Blackburn Rovers forward Sam Gallagher would be a good signing if Adebayo departs, and the Hatters have been linked with him this summer.

Gallagher has one year remaining on his deal at Ewood Park, so Luton will feel that they can strike a deal for the striker if they decide to make a move for him.

Sinclair Armstrong

Queens Park Rangers have triggered a one-year extension to the contract of forward Sinclair Armstrong, amid transfer interest from the Premier League and Championship, keeping him at Loftus Road until next summer.

The powerful striker would be an excellent addition to Luton's attacking options. At 20 years of age, Armstrong has plenty of room to develop further.

His pace and physical presence mean he fits the profile of forward that Luton often go for, and if Adebayo does leave this summer, he would be an excellent replacement.

Armstrong could attract Premier League interest, but the prospect of playing first team football in a promotion push with Luton could be enough to tempt him to Kenilworth Road if the Hatters are interested in a deal.
