The outstanding home form of Sheffield United continued on Tuesday night, with midfielder Callum O’Hare emphasising the importance of unity, fans, and hard work behind their remarkable success at Bramall Lane.

After the Blades’ commanding 3-0 win over Oxford United, O’Hare spoke confidently about the team’s performances and the spirit driving their top-of-the-table run.

Callum O’Hare’s Reaction After Sheffield United Cruise to Top Spot in 3-0 Win Over Oxford United

Speaking to SUTV, O’Hare was quick to attribute the team’s success to a combination of factors:

“We’ve got a top team. We’ve got top coaches, and a top manager. And I think the fans just drive us on. We can’t really ask for much more, and it’s obviously working when we play here, so hopefully we can keep it going.”

The victory over Oxford marked their seventh consecutive home win without conceding a goal, a testament to their dominance on home soil. The electric atmosphere at Bramall Lane has turned the stadium into a fortress, with players feeding off the energy from the stands.

Despite significant squad changes during the summer transfer window, O’Hare said the team has adapted quickly and forged strong connections on and off the pitch.

“It’s quite a new group, there’s a lot of new faces, and the bond with everyone has just connected pretty quickly. And when you’re winning, it always helps. When we play here, it feels like a fortress: you’re exciting when you play here. We’ve just got to keep it going.”

The 3-0 victory showcased United’s quality across the pitch. O’Hare opened the scoring in the 10th minute with his first goal for the club, setting the tone for the evening. Tyrese Campbell doubled the lead just 16 minutes later, rounding the goalkeeper after a sublime Gustavo Hamer through ball. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi completed the scoring before the hour mark, capping off a brilliant team move involving Vinicius Souza and Hamer.

This win, combined with Sunderland’s goalless draw against West Bromwich Albion, propelled Sheffield United to the top of the Championship table with 35 points.

The Blades now face a quick turnaround as they prepare for a crucial clash against promotion rivals Sunderland on Friday evening.

O’Hare admitted the demanding schedule can take its toll but is relishing the opportunity to play in such high-stakes matches. “Can’t wait. Top of the table clash, that’s what you play football for,” he exclaimed. “Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday is horrible, so Saturday-Tuesday-Friday is even worse. You feel tired, and then as soon as the game starts, you just forget about it and just play football.”

Despite their impressive run of six games unbeaten (winning five of those), O’Hare believes Sheffield United have yet to reach their full potential.

“In house we do [feel like Sheffield United are the best team in the league]. I’m not sure what everyone else thinks, but we know how good we can be. I would say there’s a lot more to come.”
