Benjamin Sesko was considered Arsenal’s preferred striker target in the summer as the Gunners spoke to him and Viktor Gyokeres. In the summer of 2024, Arsenal had hoped to add him to their squad and were keen for the move to happen, but he chose to remain at RB Leipzig for one more season.

Arsenal did not sign another striker during that window, and it appeared they would return for him the following year, which they eventually did.
