Inter did their bit with a victory away to Como, who were left down to 10 men by Pepe Reina’s unfortunate career ending red card, but could not stop Napoli taking the Scudetto.
The Nerazzurri went into the final round knowing the Scudetto was not in their hands, sitting one point behind a Napoli side who were hosting already-safe Cagliari. With the Champions League Final against PSG coming up next Saturday, several players were rested along with the not fully fit Lautaro Martinez, while Simone Inzaghi sat out a touchline ban. Como were comfortably mid-table and unbeaten in eight, including six victories, but Edoardo Goldaniga was suspended, with Sergi Roberto, Alberto Dossena and Assane Diao out of action.

Maxi Perrone had to make practically a goal-line clearance on the Matteo Darmian volley at the back post from a Federico Dimarco cross.
Nico Paz and Gabriel Strefezza curlers were off target, but Inter did take the lead when Stefan de Vrij nodded in the Hakan Calhanoglu corner. That result, with Napoli still goalless, put Inter temporarily top of the table.

Yann Sommer was tested by Smolcic at the back post on a free kick, then Pepe Reina had to rush off his line to deny Mehdi Taremi when sent through by Nicola Zalewski.

Reina rushed outside his penalty area and completely missed the ball, but did catch Taremi on the boot. VAR confirmed the foul and Reina was sent off in the final game of his career, as the veteran goalkeeper received a standing ovation from the crowd and teammates, just not in the way he had wanted.

Jean Butez came on and smothered a Calhanoglu free kick, while Como had penalty appeals waved away as Dimarco had his arms across his body when charging down the Mergim Vojvoda effort.
Moments later, Inter doubled their lead, as Tucu Correa gathered from Taremi, cut inside as Smolcic got the sliding tackle all wrong and bent the finish into the far bottom corner with the inside of the right boot from six yards.

The goal was simultaneous with Romelu Lukaku putting Napoli 2-0 up against Cagliari.
Yann Bisseck went off after turning his knee, a worrying sight 8 days ahead of the Champions League Final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Patrick Cutrone drilled just wide and scuffed another effort into the arms of Sommer, as it became evident Inter would not beat Napoli to the title.
