McTominay left boyhood club United last month in a deal worth £27.5million to join Antonio Conte at Napoli.

The Scotland international made his full debut for the club in their 0-0 draw with Juventus on Saturday, after coming off the bench in the 4-0 win at Cagliari.

And according to reports from Il Mattino via calcionapoli24, McTominay is being watched so he doesn’t succumb to the temptations of Italian food and fall out of shape.

Napoli head coach Conte believes a good diet is crucial to his players’ fitness and uses nutritionist Tiberio Ancona to hand out individual plans.

It is said that McTominay takes home a note every day after training advising him what he can and cannot eat.

The Serie A club are concerned about the ‘temptations of Neapolitan cuisine’ which includes cheese, pizza, pasta and ice cream.

Conte is known to be a strict disciplinarian regarding his players’ diets and reportedly helped Romelu Lukaku lose half a stone when he signed him from United at Inter Milan in 2019.

The Italian advocates the ‘Bresaola’ diet which focuses on a Mediterranean menu of vegetables and protein-rich white meats like chicken and turkey.

Fried, food, mozzarella and alcohol are banned and as a new player from abroad, McTominay is considered a risk for putting on weight.

Lukaku has reunited with Conte again at Napoli, with other new signings including Billy Gilmour from Brighton.

Napoli have started the season well and are currently second in Serie A, just a point behind surprise league leaders Torino.
