Ferran Torres has been in focus lately in the wake of his brilliant performances across all competitions.

The forward has racked up 10 goals in 25 competitive matches this season, with five of them being scored since the turn of the year.

Ferran’s recent scoring run has not gone unnoticed and it appears the player had received an opportunity to leave Barcelona in January.

Saudi Arabian club’s offer for Ferran

As revealed by Diario SPORT, Ferran Torres was approached by a Saudi Arabian club in January.

This happened when the forward was in Jeddah in January to participate in the Spanish Super Cup.

The unnamed Saudi club offered Torres with a lucrative offer to leave Barcelona. This happened at a time when the forward was not in Hansi Flick’s ideal starting eleven.

However, despite the lucrative offer to leave Barcelona and receive a handsome salary boost, the forward did not consider the offer.

Ferran had no desire to leave Barcelona anytime soon. The report adds that the forward is committed to staying at Barça and establishing himself as a first-team regular.

Although achieving such a status will be difficult due to the competition from Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, Ferran is not willing to give up.

It must be noted that Barcelona do lack the services of a reliable alternative for Lewandowski. Ferran, to that end, could prove to be a useful element to the squad, especially as Barcelona look to do well across all three competitions.

That said, Barcelona can also leverage Ferran’s good form to potentially fetch a good price for the former Man City star in the summer. The player, after all, is currently on the wishlist of both Arsenal and Tottenham – clubs who could make a move for him once the season ends.
