Mohamed Salah remains central to Liverpool’s ambitions this season, but his future at Anfield is shrouded in uncertainty. With the Egyptian talisman out of contract at the end of the season, speculation over his next move continues to intensify. While Salah has dismissed suggestions of an imminent switch to La Liga, his recent comments have sparked discussions about where his career might take him next.
In an interview with TNT Sports Mexico, Salah revealed he has been learning Spanish, but was quick to downplay any connection to a potential move to La Liga. “I’m just learning the language a little, and I can say things like ‘how are you?’ but that doesn’t mean I’m considering living in Spain,” he said.
The revelation comes amid a backdrop of constant transfer speculation. While talk of a move to Spain hasn’t gained much traction, the prospect of Salah leaving for Saudi Arabia has been a persistent narrative. However, Salah’s commitment to Liverpool’s current campaign remains unquestionable, as evidenced by his prolific form this season.
One of the biggest concerns for Liverpool fans is the lack of progress in Salah’s contract negotiations. Speaking to Sky Sports, Salah confirmed that talks with the club have stalled.

“It’s the last six months [of my time at Liverpool]. There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see,” Salah stated.
Reports in December suggested that Salah was on the verge of signing a two-year extension, but no deal has materialised. This leaves Liverpool in a precarious position as they risk losing one of their most valuable assets on a free transfer if an agreement isn’t reached soon.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Salah’s performances on the pitch have been nothing short of exceptional. The forward has scored 20 goals and provided 17 assists in 26 appearances this season, demonstrating his continued importance to the team.
Salah’s hunger for success remains evident, particularly his desire to lead Liverpool to another Premier League title. “Honestly, the most important thing for me is to win the Premier League and be a big part of that,” he said. “I don’t want to be just like anyone and have a small part. I want to win it and I want people to say, ‘he made the difference, he made the team win.’ It’s not easy at all.”
These comments underline his ambition and desire to make a lasting impact at Anfield. Salah is not content with being a peripheral figure — he wants to be the driving force behind Liverpool’s success.
