Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed another absentee ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow.
The Red Devils have accumulated just 22 points in 19 Premier League games this season. The club need a big turnaround to qualify for European football.
Ahead of Sunday’s trip to Merseyside, Amorim has revealed that he will be without two players from the recent 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford has already been sidelined with illness and the manager has told MUTV that Jonny Evans won’t be part of the squad for the derby.
He said: “No, I think Rashford is ill. Jonny is out. I think the rest – Vic (Victor Lindelof) is almost there and Luke (Shaw) also. But they are out. The others, I think, are fit.”
United had a poor end to 2024, with five defeats in their last six league games. They have dropped to 14th in the table on the back of a poor run.
The Red Devils face a huge challenge against the league leaders tomorrow. The club need to be defensively strong to get something out of the game.
