According to a recent report by Defensa Central, AS Roma have offered their 27-year-old striker Tammy Abraham to Real Madrid on a possible loan deal.

With Xabi Alonso now in charge at Real Madrid, the club has been looking at a few positions to strengthen for the coming season. One of those areas is the centre-forward spot, which has been a topic of discussion since Alonso took over.

Abraham, who previously played for Chelsea, spent the 2024/25 season on loan at AC Milan. Despite not being a regular starter, he still managed to score 10 goals and provide 7 assists.

These are solid numbers, especially considering he often came off the bench. With his loan at Milan ending, Abraham is now set to return to Roma, who are keen to move him on and have offered him to clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid.

For Roma, a loan deal or a permanent transfer for around €20 million would work, making it a relatively affordable option for Madrid.

Interestingly, it seems Real Madrid are not too interested in bringing in Abraham at this time. The emergence of Gonzalo Garcia, a promising striker from the club’s own academy, has changed the situation.

He has impressed in training and games, and his surprise breakthrough means Real Madrid might not feel the need to sign another centre-forward.

Speaking about Garcia’s future, Xabi Alonso said, “There are no decisions yet for next season. We’re focused on the Club World Cup. Obviously, the Club World Cup will tell you things, but there’s no decision.”

This suggests the club will decide on Garcia’s place in the team after the tournament. But signs point to him staying with the first team for next season, which would close the door on signing Abraham or any other striker this summer.
